How Do I Know God Loves Me?

 You must have heard the phrase, “God loves you” countless times. Sometimes it’s easier to say that God loves you and not mean it because your feelings and emotions tell you something different.

 Life circumstances could contribute to this, especially during difficult times. Maybe you had a really bad day and none of your plans worked out. Maybe your close friend lost his/her job and the bills keep piling up. Maybe you lost a loved one and you’re still trying to figure out how life will be without them.

 So many reasons can come up that cause a person to question God’s love or doubt if He’s truly concerned about you at all.

 When this kind of thoughts tries to creep in and threaten to overwhelm you remember God’s Word is our ultimate weapon to overcome them. God’s Word is the basic evidence of God’s abundant love for us.

 The first scripture I will quote is one of the most memorized and cherished Bible verse. I’m certain you know it and even recite it by heart.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

 How wonderfully the love of God was portrayed here. This verse is loaded with the greatest realities known to man. God loves you so much that He sent His dear Son Jesus Christ to be born on earth and die on the cross for your sake. Why? So you could have the God kind of life in abundance!

 The next Bible verse Jeremiah 29:11 says,

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

 This powerful and affirming scripture is a subtle reminder of God’s love. The truth is God is present within us no matter what life throws at us. If we choose to walk with Christ daily, he will continue to reveal Himself to us. And that’s one major way to find peace amidst life’s chaos.

 As I round up this post, meditate on Romans 8:38-39 and allow it bless you;

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can’t and life can’t. The angels can’t and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries for tomorrow and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away.

Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ our Lord.”
